The Petzl Pirana Descender has three braking positions designed for use with canyoneering descent techniques. Choose from three braking positions depending on the user weight, the rope diameter, and terrain. Two supplementary braking spurs allow friction to be increased during descent. Carabiner with cross section of 12 mm like an ATTACHE provides a tight fit in the small hole, creating a rigid carabinerdescender unit. Stays securely attached to the harness during rope insertion to help prevent loss. Greatly reduces the risk of leverage on the carabiner gate poor positioning. Designed to be used with the rapid technique. Designed for use on single ropes 8 to 13 mm. Can be used on some double ropes braking positions depend on diameter. Use with a locking carabiner with a 12 mm cross section ATTACHE or WILLIAM.
