If you're looking for a pedal with substantial support underfoot, we'd recommend the Triple Trail, but if saving grams ranks among your most important goals, the II Triple offers responsive engagement, now better than ever with a redesigned retention claw. iSSi squared off the sides of the claw to help the mechanism better interact with the tension spring, and the improved relationship provides a more satisfying pop when you twist your shoe out of the pedal. Whether you use the II Triple for 'cross racing in the fall, commuting by day, or keep it dedicated to your featherweight XC frame, the 14. 6 degree release angle inspires confidence that the pedals will react the way you need them to, without overreacting.
