Horizontal baffles are sewn through similar to other western bags while vertical seams are baffled with 1.5 inch netting to keep insulation in its place for unimpeded loft. Aiding the down insulation is a trim and efficient cut that allows the bag to warm quickly, and remain comfortable down to 35 degrees. The Western Mountaineering Summerlite weighs in at just 16 ounces. Much of the weight saving can be attributed to the ultralite 12 denier ripstop nylon shell fabric that is durable for the incredibly light weight less than an ounce per square yard.
