The streamlined shape helps reduce weight and bulk.An expandable foam core provides the self inflating Trail scout with an R value of 3.7 and makes the pad incredibly easy to use. Simply unroll the pad and open the valve. Open celled foam responds by soaking up air, similar to the way in which a sponge absorbs liquid. Once the Trail Scout has had time to inflate, you can adjust firmness by manually adding or releasing air before re tightening the valve.The Therm a Rest Trail Scout sleeping pad is available in four sizes. The Small measures 20 x 47, the Medium measures 20 x 66, the Regular measures 20 x 72 and the Large measures a full 25 x 77.
