Aerobars, whether being used in triathlon or time trialing, are designed to do one thing position the rider in as aerodynamic of a position as possible. And although we admit that a fully integrated bar is rather clean looking, unless you're flexible like a 'bendy straw,' you'll need something a little more customizable. This is where the Profile Design Viper Wing Base Bar excels. A base bar is ideal for the athletes who need to fully customize their cockpits. And because the bar doesn't include the aerobar extensions, you have the option of running several different sizes, bends, and shapes to suit your particular style of riding. In other words, this means that you're able to pick and choose each individual piece of your setup. It also means that you're able to decide how much to spend, making them often less expensive than all in one bars. The Viper base bar is constructed of multi directional, multi layered carbon fiber, which adds strength and durability to the composition. The bar was built with internal cable routing and is Di2 compatible. Additionally, the bullhorns are designed so that your arms are not fully stretched while holding them. Essentially, this is a position that's similar to riding on the hoods of your road bike, which makes climbing in and out of the saddle easier on your back. In addition to this, the base bar is compatible with virtually any brake lever on the market, making the cockpit even more customizable. The Profile Design Viper Wing Base Bar may be used with many Profile extensions from the more traditional T4 bend to the T2 'S bend.' It's been designed for use with a 31. 8mm clamp diameter stem, and it's available in four widths from 40 to 46cm. Please note that the bar's weight around 195 to 210 grams varies according to width.
