For years, the ski bend aero bar was everything. Luckily, people weren't satisfied. Eventually, racers were cutting off the ends of their ski bend bars, which led to a straight bar being tested in the tunnel. Aero, when parallel or nearly parallel to the ground, yes. The resulting position was more like a bullet. It worked for some, but for most it was too low. So, with a subtle S bend, Profile Design's T2 Clip On TT Bars are the solution. Your hands are still low and aggressive, but the difference in height between your armrests and the end of the extensions is minimized to enhance comfort. The big difference between using a ski bend and an S bend is that the S bend, ironically, is more like how skiers hold their poles when fully tucked your wrists are bent and your hands are tilted down. The 335mm S bend extensions are made of 6061 aluminum and are mated to the same clamps and hardware found on the T1 aero bars. The handlebar clamps, made from forged 6061 aluminum, tighten to the bars separately from the extensions. These clamps are separate from the armrests. So, you're able to first determine the appropriate width, and then set the length of the extensions and angle of the armrests. And since the armrest clamp is round on a round tube, you're able to adjust the cant of the armrests. Accordingly, this provides some height adjustment, as well as allowing you the opportunity to have the armrests tilted inward or outward. For those who like a narrow position, having the armrests tilted upward toward the stem provides a secure feeling. And for those who prefer a wide position, we recommend that you lower the armrests and tilt them outward. The armrest clamps, known as J2 Brackets, are also able to be moved fore and aft on the extensions themselves.
