With lightweight construction and a multitude of features, the sleek and functional Osprey Talon 44 offers high performance and reliability for fast and light thru hikes and weekend trips. Despite weighing less than 2.5 pounds even in its largest size, the Talon 44 comfortably carries up to 40 pounds of gear and clothes!A peripheral aluminum frame with aluminum head cup combines with the AirScape backpanel to lend the Talon 44 flexible support and breathability to combat heat build up between your back and the pack body. Both the Biostretch hipbelt and Talon Biostretch adjustable harness straps are padded with die cut slotted foam and covered in mesh to keep weight to a minimum. Together they enhance comfort and optimize fit. Further enhancing fit, the hipbelt utilizes an ErgoPull closure that draws tension along the top and the bottom of the belt.Accommodating users of different dimensions, the Talon 44 is available in two sizes: SmallMedium fits torsos ranging from 16 20 in length and the MediumLarge size fits torsos that are between 19 and 23 in length. The storage capacity varies based on size, as well: SmallMedium is 2563 cubic inches and MediumLarge is 2685 cubic inches.The top loading packbag is accessed through a removable lid with top and under lid zippered pockets. Stretch mesh pockets on the front and stretch woven pockets on the sides of the Talon 44 offer additional organizational options and keep gear and extra layers close at hand. A small dedicated stretch pocket on the Talon 44's shoulder strap is perfect for snacks, energy gels or electronics. Larger zippered pockets on the hipbelt offer quick and easy access to other gear and trail essentials. InsideOut compression straps on the lower sides allow you to cinch down the Talon 44 and keep contents safely in place for load control. Other features found on the Talon 44 include a Stow on the Go trekking pole attachment on the shoulder strap, ice tool attachments with a bungee tie offs and a patterned reflective graphic for visibility in low light situations. A lined, exterior compartment makes the Talon 44 compatible with hydration systems sold separately and makes it possible to refill your reservoir without having to access the interior of the pack.
