The SB 20 is designed as a member of Kelty's TraiLogic gear collection.Kelty's Women's sleeping bag models are cut to more closely follow the contours of a woman's body, maximizing thermal efficiency. Compared to the men's versions, these bags are narrower at the shoulders, roomier at the hips and have extra insulation in the mid section and foot of the bag, prime areas for heat loss.Renowned for their efficiency in retaining heat and compressible properties, the feathers and fibers of down have an incredibly soft, comfortable feel and, despite advances in synthetic materials, continue to provide the best warmth to weight ratio of any insulation available. The one inherent weakness of down insulation is that it loses much of its ability to maintain warmth when it gets wet, but the DriDown featured in the Women's SB 20 bag performs differently. Employing a unique, innovative polymer application, DriDown actually creates a hydrophobic finish on each individual plume of down. This treatment results in insulation that stays dry up to 10 times longer and dries 33% faster, should it become wet, than untreated down bags. Box baffle construction in the Women's SB 20 eliminates cold spots, keeping outside air from reaching the interior of the bag. A draft tube behind the 60, two way locking zipper, an insulated top draft collar and a contoured hood with an insulated hood baffle further enhance the thermal efficiency of the Women's SB 20 bag. The hood utilizes Kelty's patented FatMan and Ribbon drawcords, allowing you to adjust the top or lower sections of the hood by feel even when it's dark outside. A 20D nylon taffeta liner provides internal comfort, and the inclusion of strategically placed extra waterproof protection at the head and feet assures that chill caused by condensation will not be a problem.
