All mountain used to be a sneaky synonym for intermediate, but K2's aware that there of plenty of serious skiers who don't want, or need, a 115mm waisted powder ski as their everyday driver. For those of you who like to rip groomers, bust through bumps, and occasionally adventure into the trees, it designed the iKonic 85Ti Ski, which is an aggressive, hard charging ski that's engineered to make short work of hardpack and mixed conditions under the guidance of relatively aggressive skiers. It all starts with the K2 Konic core, which is comprised of a lively and energetic aspen and paulownia wood core that gives the iKonic a feel that's fun and playful without being wimpy. The core keeps the ski light, but K2 laid down titanium laminates over the edges to increase power, stability, and grip, so you can enjoy the control of a metal ski without the weight penalty or excessively damp feel. It also laid down a layer of triaxial braided fiberglass and a carbon grid, which helps prevent the iKonic from twisting and feeling squirrely and unpredictable when you're driving a hard edge. The camber profile of the iKonic is called All Terrain Rocker, but it's not rockered in the way you might think. There's a moderate rise in the tip to smooth out choppy snow and make turn initiation a snap, but traditional camber underfoot and a flat tail give you tons of effective edge to work with, so you can tear morning corduroy to shreds without a second thought.
