Fi'zik Aliante VS Carbon Braided Saddle

Fizik released its first version of the Aliante just before the new millennium, and since then, it's gone through a few significant changes during its journey to becoming one of Fizik's most popular saddles among professional and recreational cyclists alike. New versions like the Aliante VS Carbon Braided Saddle now seek to accommodate a broader range of riders and their biomechanical needs. Two millimeters wider at the rear than the standard racing Aliante, the Aliante VS includes a 7mm pressure relief channel down its center, but unlike conventional split saddle designs, this cutout does not impact the saddle's overall stiffness. Fizik carefully engineered it to maintain consistent rigidity on either side of the cutout. The saddle's Twin Flex shell, made of carbon reinforced nylon, uses a layer of multi directional carbon fiber fused to a bi directional layer to add controlled flex at the center of the saddle. This construction, according to Fizik, allows the more rigid outer layer to control the flexibility of the inner layer, while the Aliante VS's carbon braided rails take on the task of dampening road vibrations traveling up through the seatpost.
