Boasting a ventilated, high performance suspension system, torso length adjustability and a long list of features, the Deuter Futura Vario 5010 is well equipped for weekend and multi day backpacking trips.Deuter introduced its Aircomfort back and suspension system in 1985 and has been fine tuning and improving upon it ever since. The Futura Vario 5010 combines the Aircomfort back system with Deuter's Vari Quick harness system. A strongly woven strap ladder, the Vari Quick harness system allows you to select the desired position for optimal comfort and load distribution. The Aircomfort back system, consisting of a lightweight PE frame sheet and preformed aluminum stays, provides stability and flexibility, adding tension to a mesh back panel. Moist air can freely escape through the space created between the pack body and your back, preventing heat build up. Soft, breathable fabrics and ventilated pads in the back, shoulder straps and hipbelt further help to keep you cool and comfortable on the trail. Load lifter straps, and shoulder and lumbar padding further aid in the effective distribution of weight throughout the pack. Side compression straps enable you to reduce and expand the size of the pack body as needed, further securing contents and ensuring stabilization of the load. A zippered divider between the Futura Vario 5010's main compartment and front entry sleeping bag compartment allows for organization and separation of wet and dry gear. When hauling longer items or in need of access between the two compartments, you can unzip the divider and convert the Futura Vario 5010 to a single, large compartment. The main compartment has top loading access and in addition, a large, U shaped front zipper enables you to quickly put hands on gear and or clothes without having to dump out the entire contents of your pack. An integrated, extendible spindrift collar protects the interior of the packbag and increases the pack's full capacity to 3650 cubic inches.A large front zippered pocket offers additional storage. Side bellows pockets and internal and external zippered pockets on the Futura Vario 5010's extendible lid provide further storage options. Other special features of the Futura Vario 5010 include ice axetrekking pole loops, top lid attachment rings and an integrated rain cover for protecting your pack against the elements.
