Columbia Outdry EX Diamond Shell Men's

Traditional waterproof shells are made with a waterproof membrane that's been laminated between a face fabric and backer to protect it from wear and abrasion. As effective as this construction is, it becomes less effective with dirt and use, so Columbia made the Outdry EX Diamond Men's Shell with a waterproof membrane on the outside of the jacket. This eliminates the need for face fabric, making dirt and wear a non issue, and allows the moisture wicking lining to maintain excellent breathability throughout the life of the jacketAll seam taping on the Outdry can also be found on the outside of the jacket, and the shoulders have been reinforced to protect the waterproof membrane from abrasive backpack straps. The hood, cuffs, and hem can all be cinched down tightly to block out cold gusts and heavy rains, and the highly water resistant center front zipper offers a watertight closure to the jacket. Columbia also threw in dual underarm ventilation zips, since even the most breathable rain jacket can have a hard time keeping up with the fast pace you prefer to keep on the trail.
