Atomic Women's Backland Alpine Touring Boot

Atomic is no stranger to the backcountry game, but 2015 will be their first year to produce an alpine touring boot. It's only fitting that Atomic has pulled out all the stops to create the Backland series, innovative and elegant Italian made touring boots. The Atomic Backland Women's specific model drops the carbon and a hefty chunk off of the price tag off the Backland Carbon without compromising the impressive design. Hiding below a unique cross lace lower buckle is a removable quick click tongue. Pull the tongue to unlock an outrageous 74 degrees of cuff movement. In case you haven't been studying anatomy, that's actually more than any human ankle should be able to flex. Complimenting the huge range of motion is a short and rockered sole that makes hiking in the Backland feel more like walking in hiking boots than ski boots. When it comes time to descend, the Backland is no slacker. A burly walkski mechanism resides on the rear spine of the backland and is easily flipped between modes no chance of accidentally popping into walk mode on these boots. Boasting a mid stiff flex, the Backland is powerful enough to drive the largest touring skis through the steepest terrain. Atomic knows that skiers will want to be in the Backland all day, so they've included a custom Backland Platinum Liner. Like other high end liners, it is heat moldable for a glove like fit, but flexible enough for easy touring. Unlike other liners, however, the Backland Platinum is completely breathable and even fully washable.
