Part of the Summit Series, which comprises of six complementary pieces from baselayers to shells, The North Face engineered this midlayer using Polartec Hardface fleece, which provides durable warmth, along with a Fuseform center back and underarms that wick moisture to prevent sweat accumulation and the resulting chill. Designed for efficiency, this lightweight jacket is cut from a single piece of fabric to minimize stitching, and it has light external taping at key seams to increase durability without boosting bulk. Like every piece in the Summit Series, the L2 is cut with an articulated pattern for easy mobility, and it has a helmet compatible hood that's made with minimal seams for increased comfort.
