Sidi's Dominator shoes have long been a favorite for their ability to handle just about any mix of grass, rock, mud, sand, and even tarmac, and the Dominator Fit Mega Shoes expand the model's appeal both figuratively and literally. Sized specifically for riders who wear wide shoes, the Dominator Mega has all of the features of its slimmer sibling with a more forgiving fit to accommodate higher insteps and wider metatarsals. Providing multiple fit options is not something we see offered very frequently in shoes of this level, but it's no surprise that the fit aficionados at Sidi saw a need to accommodate more cyclists with their shoes. Sidi shapes the shoes' uppers with its relatively new microfiber microtech, a material that creates fewer toxic emissions during its construction for a smaller environmental impact than other synthetic materials. Despite the change in production method, it retains the combination of water repellency, low weight, and durability that you'd expect from a Sidi shoe. The perforations along the top of the shoe encourage airflow and breathability throughout the uppers, and the combination of two hook and loop straps and Sidi's classic ratcheting buckle give you the ability to make micro adjustments across the sensitive areas along the top of your foot. Sidi's penchant for addressing fit minutiae shows through with the Soft Instep top strap, which adds cushioning and distributes pressure more evenly across the top of the instep. As you pedal on trail or off with the Dominators, the reinforced heel cup and the composite nylon MTB Competition Sole work together to encourage consistent power transfer from your legs to the pedals, carrying you through any mix of sand pits, smooth singletrack, or rock gardens without giving out. For the days when the terrain demands additional traction, the shoes have space for two toe spikes to give you some extra stability.
