Saga is the undisputed king of freeskiing steeze, and the Monarch 3L Men's Bib Pant reigns supreme over its pow domain with a royally rad blend of style, tech, and that little Saga somethin' somethin' that you just can't quite explain. In this case, though, this pant's je ne sais quoi might take a backseat to its 20K waterproof and breathable membrane, which is so burly that Saga recommends the Monarch for cold water swimming as well as shredding note: not actually. The membrane's laminated to rugged polyester fabric and decked out with fully taped seams and a DWR treatment for supreme bad weather performance. Ankle gaiters and a jacket to pant interface keep things tight against invading snow, while the inseam vents, articulated knees, and adjustable waist are key if you're hiking the park or hitting the backcountry. And, of course, the Monarch rocks Saga's trademark traditional fit, which is loose enough that no one will confuse you with a Euro carver but not so baggy that you'll trip on the reinforced cuffs.
