The SRAM X01 BB30 Direct Mount Crankset takes everything you know about traditional bottom bracket and crankset setups and turns it on its head by essentially eliminating the spider altogether and mounting the chainring directly on the spindle. This may seem a little bonkers, but it results in a lighter system that lets you swap out the chainring in a snap to adapt to the day's trail adventure a handy feature on a one by. The X01 crankset is built with the same nigh indestructible, super stiff, and lightweight carbon fiber crank arms featured in SRAM's top end XX1 crankset, just with a little less machining in the chainring and a more wallet friendly price. While it may hold onto a smidge more weight than the XX1 chainring, the X01 chainring doesn't lack in functionality. It's machined with extreme precision and features SRAM's X Sync technology, with squared off teeth that grab the chain to keep it off of your ankle and guide it to a smooth transition back towards the cassette. The teeth also feature a sharp, narrow profile with rounded chamfer edges to help manage chain deflection and mud spitting recesses for solid chain retention even when slogging through mucky conditions.
