Northwave's Extreme Tech MTB Plus Shoes are, well, extreme. From the super stiff carbon soles to the dual Boa closures, these shoes are built for racing. The Extreme Tech's uppers are constructed from a single piece of microfiber. This serves two purposes: fewer seams mean less material, which means lower weight, and it also reduces the number of places that your foot comes in contact with an irregular shape, which can lead to chafing and hot spots. The carbon fiber soleplate, on its own, weighs just 60 grams and it's stiff enough to get all your power through to the pedals. To counter some of that stiffness and to create a shoe that's plain ol' comfortable, Northwave did some BioMechanical Mapping, which allowed them to match the shoe's shapes to the foot's contours. This makes for a truly one of a kind fit.
