Keeping your cool is important when obstacles like trees, rocks, and cars are whipping past at eye watering speeds, so Louis Garneau gave the Carve II Helmet a whopping 29 vents to help your head stay happy when you're riding hard under the hot sun. Throw in some highly absorbent and quick drying AirDry padding, and you have a lid that's perfect for sweltering days on the trail or the road. Staying cool is key, but a helmet's chief job is to keep your brain safely inside of your skull. The Carve II accomplishes this by combining a U Bar plastic ribbed exoskeleton, a Super MSB impact dispersing ring, and In Mold composite construction to absorb and spread forces in frontal, lateral, and rearward impacts. For these systems to work, the Carve II has to stay locked on your head, which is where the Spider Pro II dial adjustment system comes in just put the helmet on, twist the knob, and the flexible internal frame will tighten snugly around your head. The finishing touch is the removable V Pro visor, which gives you some sun protection and brown pow cred on the trail but snaps easily off when you take a ride on the road.
