The Koflach Men's Arctis Expe Boot will take you as high as you want to go, and then some. Everything about this boot is made to help you conquer high altitudes. It starts with the Pebax plastic used on the upper section that will stay durable and tough, no matter how cold things get. Koflach's Vario joint helps give you the best possible range of movement, so you don't have to worry about your boots when you're front pointing 50 degree ice above a 2000 foot cliff. Steel rollers let you lace up as tight as possible, without any undue exertion, since you'll need all the energy you have to help you complete your climb. In order to help with lacing even more, Koflach used its Y technology, which is a way of combining hard plastic for most of the upper with softer, more supple plastic to make lacing a breeze. Further inside the boot you'll find a removable Arctics Expe HA liner to help keep your feet warm. Make sure you take them out and put them in your sleeping bag at night! Nobody likes waking up and trying to put on frozen liners. Rubber randing around the outside of the boot helps to minimize wear and abrasion, and gives you a bit of stick where you need it. Speaking of stick, the Vibram Dalaugiri soles offer plenty of traction when the ground gets slick. Toe and heel welts round out this expedition monster by allowing you to fit into just about any crampon system available.
