Drastically different than anything we've seen before, the K2 Cool Bean Snowboard is a slashy, surf inspired ride with incredible float packed into a stubby swallowtail shape. Taking cues from voluminous fish surfboards, the Cool Bean packs the same volume as a regular sized 159 snowboard, but in a much shorter length it's only a 144cm board for quick turning agility on epic powder days. Considering regular boards feature widths around 250 millimeters, its girthy 287 millimeter waist gives you an accurate depiction of just how stubby this snow surfer is. Its All Terrain Baseline places flatzero camber underfoot for stability and edgehold, with a large, continuous rockered nose, or what K2 dubs as Tweekends. In conjunction with the swallowtail rear cut out and humongous nose, the Cool Bean naturally sinks the rear to float through the deepest powder imaginable, without any rear leg burn. Think snow caked Hokkaido tree runs, waist deep days at Baker, and open bowl slashing in Colorado. It's all a cakewalk for the Cool Bean. Inside this stubby snow surfer, the WH3 core is made of three species of renewable wood, but adds in two Honeykomb strips between the binding zones for strength and lightweight performance. Biax laminates keep its torsional flex nice and soft for surf slashing deep snow and quick turns between tight trees. Additionally, its speedy 4000 sintered base keeps you gliding across deep snow without bogging down, especially in low angle stashes where everyone else is struggling to stay afloat.
