Anxieties are already high on summit day, so the last thing you want to be worried about when you're racing the clock against an approaching storm as you start your descent from the summit is whether or not your tent is still standing back at camp. Designed to deal with regular high alpine winds and howling arctic gusts, the Hilleberg Saivo 3 Person 4 Season Tent will remain resilient to the heavy winds you'll encounter whether you're camped somewhere in the far North or high in the Himalayas.Hilleberg gave the Saivo a self supporting dome style design to help it withstand heavy winds, so it can be left unattended for extended periods of time, without you coming back to camp to find it blown into a crevasse half a mile away. The tent is built with Hilleberg's black label construction, which consists of premium materials that put an emphasis on durability and strike a good strength to weight ratio. Both the inner tent and outer tent are linked for easier pitching in windy weather, but they can be pitched separately, although additional pole holders are required. The outer fly is composed of a high tenacity nylon that's been triple coated with a silicone finish, giving it a hydrostatic head of 3,000mm. The inner tent is treated with a DWR finish for additional protection from moisture, while snow proof no see um mesh vents on both sides of the tent and roof offer adequate ventilation when camping in cold winter environments. Dual doors and vestibules make the tent a comfortable living space with plenty of room to store gear, while the 12 internal pockets keep all of the necessities organized and close at hand when you're tent bound for days waiting for the storm to clear.
