Originally released in 1981, Hilleberg's Keron Tent has been a staple on arctic expeditions and cross country treks across some of the harshest environments in the world for over thirty years. This four person version of the Keron maintains the same basic design principles that have made the tent a trusted shelter on so many expeditions, but has been updated with modern fabrics and components to increase durability, reduce weight, and keep the tent on the level with all the best four season shelters. The Keron maintains the same space maximizing tunnel shape, convenient dual door construction, and the easy to set up design as the historically popular three person version. Both the outer tent and inner tent are linked for faster pitching in windy environments, while the extended dual vestibules maximize storage space for gear. Made with Hilleberg's Black Label construction, the Keron is composed of top shelf fabrics and components to ensure solid and reliable performance in the harshest alpine and arctic environments. The outer fabric is Hilleberg's proprietary Kerlon 1800 high tenacity nylon, which has been treated on both sides with a silicone coating, giving the outer tent a hydrostatic head rating of 3000mm. The bathtub floor extends along the sides of the inner tent to prevent ground water from seeping through and is triple coated with a PU treatment, giving the floor a hydrostatic head of 10,000mm for serious protection against groundwater, snow, and ice. The Keron isn't the most belled and whistled tent on the market, but that just means there are fewer things that can break when you're far from civilization. That said, it still has all the features necessary to make it a comfortable shelter in the most demanding environments. Both the mesh backed doors and adjustable no see um mesh vents on both vestibules can be adjusted to dial in the necessary ventilation to prevent condensation from accumulating along the tent walls. Both of the doors' zippers are prot...
