Giordana has been at the forefront of cycling apparel design for over three decades. Its synergy of classic style with technical know how has created a brand that blends function and style. The Sport Collection harkens back to the beginnings of the brand and revisits the iconic pieces that started it all. While a true classic cycling jersey would be sewn of wool, Giordana isn't quite that vintage. It began in the '70s, well before even LeMond's name was whispered among cycling enthusiasts. The Sport Elite jersey was constructed of VX2 Vapor Xchange, which is a material that uses two fibers that work in tandem to speed moisture away from the body. Vapor Xchange is hydrophobic on the inside, hydrophilic on the outside, with a net like structure to keep much of the material off the skin. This loft means that air circulates between the jersey and your skin, keeping you cool and dry in the heat of the summer. Both a horizontal panel on the jersey and the inside of the collar were made with a material known as Gi27. This fabric wicks and also holds colors well no matter how much you sweat. The fit of the jersey is a form fit, without being skintight. It features a slightly elongated back with a silicone gripper around the elastic waist. Meanwhile, there is no elastic at the sleeves, which leaves them to move freely with you while you ride. A full length zipper makes it easy to don and easy to vent if the temperatures spike in the middle of a long ride. In keeping with the classic styling, the Sport Elite jersey features embroidered and flocked logos. The G aegis is featured on the chest and the sleeve reads 79 in reference to 1979, which is the year Giordana was founded. Reflective accents increase low light visibility.
