Giordana's Silverline Winter Vest received a face lift to better combat the chills of winter. Most notably, the vest now uses a blend of Giordana's New Corsa, SuperRoubaix, and ThermoDream fabrics, with the bulk of the construction using New Corsa and for good reason. This material effectively promotes moisture transfer, breathability, stretch, and weather resistance. We understand that these attributes sound more akin to a summer weight vest, however, they are needed for winter as well. To hit these ambitious benchmarks, New Corsa is comprised of three layers, all working together towards the objective of keeping you warm. The outer layer shares the stretch and feel of softshell, but with a water resistant, DWR finish, it functions without the problem of water absorbency. For the intermediary layer, a WindTex membrane protects you from both the wind and moisture. And while this is an important function, WindTex also acts as the conduit for breathability and moisture transfer between the inner and outer layers. And with New Corsa's post production, brushed inner lining, you'll be experiencing a comfortable sensation of warmth without running the risk of drowning in sweat. In a nutshell, New Corsa promotes a consistent thermo regulation, without going overboard on either end of spectrum. Another key component to the vest's comfort is its ability to move and stretch with your body throughout movement. To achieve this, Giordana used a multi phase approach. To start, the rear center panel and collar are made from the ThermoDream fabric. This is a winter weight microfiber that uses an interlocking knit to provide a great deal of stretch. Giordana likens it to nylonspandex, only with a weight that can withstand winter. Next, the rear left and right panels were made from the venerable SuperRoubaix material. This fabric features a high inner loft that breathes to relinquish any excess heat within the vest. The last step is the Silverline's multi paneled construction...
