Giordana let its iconoclastic partners at the Endurance Conspiracy out of their padded rooms to design a jersey celebrating the Richmond World Championships. The MAD MAD WORLD Vero Jersey is the result, depicting a deconstructed take on the rainbow stripes and for those of us who are old enough to remember Beheyt's 1963 worlds win summoning the specter of a certain 1963 crime caper film with a similar name. Like the film obliquely referenced by the jersey's name and rear graphic, the MAD MAD WORLDs in Richmond turned into an every cyclist for themselves free for all when the chips were down and the peloton hit 23rd Street for the final time. The Vero jersey acting as a canvas for the Endurance Conspiracy's artistic impulses is itself a work of functional art. It's built with Giordana's Michron Ceramica fabric, a dual texture, ceramic treated polyester microfiber whose structure pulls moisture from your skin to the jersey's surface, accelerating the evaporation of sweat to keep you far cooler than most fabrics can. The material is also hit with a ceramic treatment, which bestows the fabric with antimicrobial properties that make it resist the accumulation of odor while the UV blocking properties resist the accumulation of skin damaging solar rays.
