Light and versatile, the Synapse Carbon 101's five point design and conservative underfoot width make this ski great for those seeking low weight and reliable performance in the backcountry. With the 5 point design and a rocker, camber, low rise tail profile, the Synapse is driven easily through a variety of soft snow conditions. The mix of poplar and paulownia hardwoods give the ski a distinct pop and playfulness while two sets of carbon laminates add torsional stiffness for a balanced feel. The rockered tip and low rise tail allow the Synapse to cruise over choppy snow and provide forgiveness in the turn. If engaged the skier can confidently move from edge to edge and pivot when skied over center. The great thing about the backcountry is the unknown, the Synapse is the ski that will help you navigate it. The core of the Synapse starts with a poplar and paulownia blend. The combination of these hardwoods gives the ski a fun and playful flex. To excel in the backcountry, quadraxial and triaxial carbon fiber laminates are used. These help by increasing the torsional stiffness and keeping the ski light. A titanal binding plate is added for extra durability and drive from the binding mount. Lastly, ABSTPU sidewalls are used for strength and more torsional stiffness.
