Do you ditch bindings and staple your boots directly to your skis' Go beardless all winter to cut down on the ounces' Frequently ski naked, just to keep things light' If you answered yes to any of these questions, then take a peek at the G3 Synapse Carbon 101 Ski. The Synapse Carbon 101 is an ultralight under six pounds per pair ski that eats powder for breakfast, mops up variable conditions for lunch, and tops it off with some edgy hardpack performance for dinner. Built using G3's Carbon Stealth Construction, which consists of quadraxial and triaxial carbon fiber laminates above and below the poplar and paulownia core. The Synapse is designed to be super versatile thanks to its 101mm waist, low camber underfoot, and an early rise tip and tail. The tip rise is much more pronounced than in the tail, making it easy to start turns and float up and over powder, the subtle tail rocker lets you lock into and break out of turns with ease, and the cambered section bites into hardpack and helps you navigate the sketchy conditions that are an inevitable component of backcountry skiing. To keep the weight down even more, G3 designed the Synapse with a Stealth Razor edge profile, which reduces the edge mass wherever necessary, without compromising durability. The sidewalls are made of a combination of bombproof ABS and TPU for durability and ultra efficient power transfer, and G3 also threw in a short Titanal layer under the foot for a bit of stiffness and plenty of binding retention. The whole package is topped off with Rockwell C48 steel edges, P Tex 2000 Electra sintered bases, and UV and scratch resistant bases to keep your boards looking so fresh and so clean.
