Even though we see far too few women wearing retro inspired designs, we heartily appreciate classic fabrics like wool and the now outdated logos and faded colors of some of our favorite teams of days gone by. But we also value the major strides forward in fabric construction and fit that we've seen since the days of short shorts, no helmets, and steel's reign, which is why pieces like Etxeondo's 1976 Women's Jersey are even more exciting manufacturers are taking their design inspiration from bygone eras of cycling but keeping fabric and fit construction planted firmly in this century. This gives us the best of both worlds, and Etxeondo does it beautifully with the 1976 Jersey, paying homage to the year the Basque brand was founded in the same area its garments remain produced to this day. Exteondo chose to construct the 1976 in its thoroughly modern Superdry fabric, a lightweight, breathable knit that's cut to follow a slightly relaxed but still tailored fit suited to training rides and Fondos. It also made sure to adopt modern raglan stitching on the form fitting sleeves, which are finished with simple, narrow folded arm cuffs, rather than the wider styles popular today. Keeping safety in mind, Etxeondo included reflective accents on the three roomy rear pockets, and the jersey is finished with a smooth, full length zipper to allow you to add ventilation throughout your ride.
