Getting to the top of a big line is one thing, but being able to ski it aggressively is another. And while a lot of touring boots will certainly put you on top of your line, few will give you that stiff, progressive feel needed to get down those big lines with confidence. Designed with input from Dynafit athlete Eric Hjorleifson, the Khion Boot is the latest innovation in Dynafit's free touring line with a super stiff flex, snow dynamic design, and progressive overlap construction. This non carbon version of the Khion carries with it a stiff flex that's a bit more forgiving than its carbon compadre. The Khion gets its stiff feel from an magnesium spoiler and Grilamid exoskeleton, as well as an overlap construction that gives the boot a progressive forward flex. Built on the same last as the Khion Carbon, the Khion still has the reverse engineering component, which eliminates those common pressure points with a pre punched metatarsal area, big toe, and heel spur. The mid wide last offers some extra room for the ascent, while delivering that snug and responsive feel needed to ski aggressively during the descent. Being a true backcountry boot, the Khion has 90 degrees of cuff rotation, which will come in handy if you need to do some cartwheels in the parking lot, or practice some yoga before you drop in on your line. Once locked into ski mode, the Khion remains stiff thanks to a Precision Lock System that locks all the components spoiler, cuff, and shell together for a completely rigid feel. You won't find a power strap on the Khion, but what you will find is the intuitive One Touch Buckle closure. The new technology from Dynafit allows the buckles to be secured and released with one efficient motion, eliminating the amount of time you spend fiddling with buckles and power straps during transitions no more missing a window of good light because you were monkeying with your boots. The Khion was shaped to eliminate drag with a more snow dynamic shape, so the Khion w...
