De Rosa has long been known for its classic design and standout steel bikes, and has stepped into the contemporary era of lightweight carbon speed machines with the same flair and solid mix of style and function. The 2015 De Rosa Idol Ultegra Complete Road Bike brings De Rosa's classic heart to a speedy carbon body that balances stiff efficiency, forgiving vibration damping, and an aggressive geometry to throw down in any road racing scenario. The Idol is made from T1000 and T800 high modulus carbon fibers in a seven to three ratio across the frame. The T1000 is known as an industry leader in tensile strength, resulting in highly efficient power transfer. T800 on the other hand, is renowned for its compressive strength and ability to absorb road vibration. By using a strategic combination of the two, De Rosa created a frame that maximizes stiffness and power transfer where it's needed while providing enough vibration damping to reduce rider fatigue and keep you comfy and on point through long races over rough roads. Don't be fooled by the comfort factor, though the Idol was built primarily for speed. Its steep head angle and relatively long top tube promote an aggressive position for quick accelerations, stable cornering, and smooth, wobble free descents. A stiff front end and wide BB386 bottom bracket make sure all that power you put into the pedals gets transferred to forward speed, while the slightly curved top tube and thin, bowed seatstays reduce road vibration and fatigue to keep you out on the road for as many miles as you have time for. De Rosa completes the Idol Ultegra Complete Road Bike package with a full Shimano 6800 11 speed drivetrain for solid, stress free shifting. The cockpit comprises a Zipp Service Course stem with a Zipp Service Course CRS 70 Ergo Drop Handlebar wrapped in Arundel Gecko bar tape, and a Zipp Service Course seatpost pairs with a Fizik Aliante saddle for a sold, comfy ride.
