We admit that we might be biased, but we're confident that anyone who's had the chance to ride the Crest Trail will agree that it's among the best mountain bike rides in the world. It's certainly the best ride in the region. Given that Crest is such a significant presence in Utah's mountain bike scene, we were happy that the locally owned and operated Silver Bean Coffee decided to adopt its name for our collaborative blend, the Competitive Cyclist Crest Trail Limited Edition Coffee. Silver Bean was founded by Matt and Shannon Happe nee Bahrke, two people who love exploring the terrain of Utah's Wasatch Mountains and then sharing their experiences over coffee. Shannon's collection of two Olympic and two World Championship mogul medals indicates her love for the snow. Matt, who originally emigrated from Nebraska to see what real snow was all about, also took well to the roads and trails of the Wasatch, founding what became one of the largest bike shops in Utah. The Happes also love their community and their sports, helping no fewer than 30 athletes on the U. S. Ski Team toward their sporting goals, contributing to local charity and community support organizations, and staying active and present in sports programs, races, and general get outside type events in the local scene. That local scene loves Crest, and, again, we're certain that anyone who turns a crank on any of its legendary sections will instantly agree. The technical terrain, the silky singletrack, the impossible to relate beauty of the mountain vistas Crest is something that has to be experienced to really be appreciated. Since it threads through the heart of the Wasatch Mountains, the name of one particularly formidable section, the spine, may be appropriately applied to the entire trail.
