Those few blissful seconds after a well meaning race volunteer gives you a handful of ice cubes to stuff into your hat are some of the best of any summer race. Unfortunately, ice doesn't last in 90 degree heat, and before long you're back to sweating it out and looking ahead to the next aid station. To make the purgatory between aid stations more bearable, race with the Columbia Freeze Degree Hat this summer. Its breathable, cooling fabric won't quite deliver the chill of an ice cube when you're roasting on pavement, but it'll come pretty close.
