The burliest kick in the Evo line, Chaco's Outcross Evo 4 Women's Hiking Shoe is half hiking shoe, half water sandal, and fully capable of hitting the trail, the river, or a combination of the two. It looks much more like a hiker than a sandal, but the mesh, webbing and synthetic leather upper dry quickly and fight odor, so you won't feel or smell weird taking it on a desert raft trip. The upper also provides full coverage, along with a gusseted tongue and lace up closure, so rocks won't get into your shoes and try to kill you. The Evo 4 also provides enough underfoot stability and protection to handle rocky trails, with Chaco's LUVSEAT PU midsole, a cushy EVA footbed, and a nylon shank to guard against ankle rolling and sharp rock stabbings. A TPU heel lock prevents your heel from slipping and developing blisters, and a protective toe cap makes a stubbed pinkie nearly impossible. Underneath it all lies a partially recycled EcoTread rubber sole, which grips on wet and dry surfaces alike, so you can float some rapids, jump off a cliff, and go for a hike without worrying about slipping and sliding.
