Changing clocks mean dark commutes and early relegation to indoor trainer sessions unless you saddle up with something like CatEye's Volt 1600 Headlight. With five modes to choose from to balance lighting needs and battery life requirements, this headlight floods oncoming terrain with up to 1600 lumens of bright, clear light. Cateye houses the battery and light conveniently in a compact, self contained body rather than a bulky external pack that takes away a bottle cage. It runs off of a cartridge style Li ion rechargeable battery in a quick change compartment ideal for longer rides and commutes, and additional batteries and charging cradles are available separately. The Volt 1600 is an LED X2 light that features five modes: High, Middle, Low, Hyper Constant, and Flashing. Battery life varies with each setting, ranging from 2 hours in the high, 1,600 lumen mode up to a full 100 hours in the flashing 200 lumen mode. It easily mounts to your helmet or your frame using a center fork bracket and features a low battery indicator and lighting mode memory function to keep you well informed on battery life and lighting status.
