Inspired by the surfy shape of Burton's legendary Fish, the Burton Family Tree Mod Fish Snowboard represents the evolution of Burton's iconic pow surfer. The Mod Fish comes alive slashing through tree runs and flying through open bowls, thanks to radical tapering 30mm and a substantial set back 2 inches at reference stance. Add in a flat to rocker profile for unreal float on the deepest days of the year. In fact, the board's effortless float allows you to downsize a few centimeters without sacrificing performance on pow days. Unlike the regular Fish, the Mod Fish forgoes a swallowtail cut out for a rounded tail that's much skinnier than the nose, due to massive tapering. This rounded tail naturally sinks into deep snow, keeping the nose planning over bottomless conditions. The major benefit with retaining a rounded tail, as opposed to the swallowtail on the regular Fish, is the board's ability to stomp landings and pop off natural lips. Its waist is also a bit skinnier, making edge to edge transitions quicker when you're carving. Inside this pow surfing specialist, the Mod Fish employs a FSC Certified Super Fly II 700G Core for a snappy, ultra light feel. Triax fiberglass keeps things responsive, while Squeezebox Core profiling facilitates powerful turns. Furthermore, its fast gliding Sintered WFO base keeps you from bogging down in waist deep snow on those epic powder days.
