Black Diamond combines 170 grams of PrimaLoft One synthetic insulation on the back of the hand and 133 grams in the palm with needle punch stitching to reduce bulk without taking away warmth. This also allows the wearer to easily grasp poles or tools. The women's specific sizing of the Fever Mitt takes into account the ratio between women's palm and finger lengths to create a better fit. A short gauntlet on the Fever Mitt has a stretchy yet snug cuff that fits under a jacket cuff to prevent snow from getting into the mitt.
