If you were able to fill a pair of skis with helium and float through any variety of powder as if it were just a bunch of clouds, then you might come close to describing the feel of the Black Crows Nocta Air Skis. The Nocta Airs are the boards you reach for when conditions are deep and a measly 110mm underfoot isn't going to be near enough surface area to keep you afloat. The blimp like proportions of the Nocta Air make it damn near impossible to sink with a huge 146mm shovel, and a wide 125mm waist that lives for cold smoke and bottomless pow. Adding to their zeppelin esque feel is the addition of a lightweight balsa flax core that shaves more than a full two pounds from previous versions of the Nocta.Like any self respecting pair of powder skis, the Nocta naturally want to slash, scrub, and slarve turns through the trees with a heavily rockered tip and tail. Mild camber underfoot offers enough edge hold for when you're forced to ski groomers to get back to the lift. Adding to the Nocta's overall stability is a semi cap construction, which puts full length ABS sidewalls above the ski's lightweight edges for effective power transmission, resulting in a solid and stable feel whether you're straightlining pillow lines or blasting down the frontside. Keeping the ski light, but adding to its torsional ridgidity, is carbon infused triaxial and biaxial fiberglass laminates above and below the Nocta's lightweight wood core.
