Berghaus has been designing outerwear for harsh mountain environments for over 45 years. Through experience and constant innovation, Berghuas has been able to develop new technologies that have put its outerwear on some of the highest, and least climbed, mountains in the World. Coming from this tradition is the Men's Asgard Hybrid Down Jacket.Designed by Berghaus's MtnHaus team, the Asgard implements a body mapped construction, which utilizes both down and synthetic fibers to yield the best warmth and function when confronted with cold and wet mountain environments. The body is insulated with Berghaus's Hydrodown insulation, which is a water resistant 700 fill goose down, which delivers superior warmth where its needed most through the core. In areas where better breathability and water resistance is more essential, the Asgard is insulated with a highly compressible and breathable Hydroloft synthetic insulation. The Pertex Quantum material repels moisture and increases breathability, while the cuffs have a stretch binding that helps seal in the heat. The fit of the Asgard allows it to be worn over layers for extra warmth in cold alpine environments although, it fits close enough to the body for it to be an effective midlayer. The helmet compatible hood is fully adjustable and has a laminated brim for extra protection from the elements.
