Weather patterns in the alpine can be unpredictable, at best, so choosing between a hardshell and softshell can be a tough call. The Arc'teryx Men's Procline Comp Jacket uses composite mapping for waterproof protection where you need it when the weather turns foul, along with the stretch and breathability of a softshell where you want it for the ascent.A three layer Gore Tex shell with a tricot backing at the hood, shoulders, and along the hem, provides hard wearing protection from snow, wind, and mank. Fortius 1. 0 softshell material at the back and underarms provides freedom of movement when the ascent turns technical it also increases breathability. The trim fit allows the jacket to be comfortably worn over midlayers, but it keeps the jacket close fitting enough to maintain a low bulk fit. Features on the jacket include a helmet compatible hood, removable Hemlock inserts, which keep the jacket down when worn with a harness, and pack and harness compatible pockets. Weather resistant zippers make for a water tight closure, and the drop back hem offers additional coverage when you bend down to make adjustments to gear.
